With the finale now less than a week away Lost fans are doing their best to hype themselves up for the event. Despite the fact that there was no episode this week there was in no way a shortage of podcasts released. Here are some that may hold you over until next Thursday:

Official Lost Podcast – The final podcast of the season. As happy as I am to have it I will miss the almost weekly updates from Damon and Carlton: Listen!

The Hydracooler – Well, I have nothing but praise for this podcast because I’m a big fan of one of the hosts, Emily, who I know from Big-O’s podcast. I’m really excited that she’s podcasting and she’s got a great couple of people podcasting with her. Of note, they will be doing a podcast with The Lost Community soon as well: Listen
The Lost Community (Book Club): This week they finally get to the Valis podcast they’ve been plugging: Enjoy it!
Cranky Fanatic – This week on Cranky Fanatic there was a group commentary of “Meet Kevin Johnson.” I managed to make an appearance and complain about things in true Cranky Fanatic fasion: Listen (and watch with it)
The Lostmeister – Josh did an audio version of the first part of the interview I did with Kris White this week. Official Lost Podcast: Video Podcast To Be Released Friday

According to the last Official Lost Podcast this Friday (April 18th) should bring us a video fan-question podcast from the executive producers of Lost. Let’s hope that the people who got their questions answered didn’t submit really dumb questions as people in these circumstances tend to do. If nothing else I’m hoping for confirmation that Danielle’s story didn’t die with her (if she’s even dead) in Meet Kevin Johnson. I have heard that the podcast has already been recorded so it is too late to submit questions for the video podcast… but not to late to submit questions for the audio podcast. Oh, and still no word from Kris White.

TV Squad has posted a nice article speculating the fate and purpose of Danielle Rousseau. Here’s some of it:

Shouldn’t Danielle have seen the ambush coming? Rousseau didn’t land on the island yesterday; she’s fully aware of the Others’ potential for evildoing. I find it hard to believe that a woman who (supposedly) survived on the island for sixteen years would walk into an ambush without being suspicious. Even Karl questioned Ben’s motives for sending them into the jungle, for crying out loud! I understand that Danielle thought leaving the Barracks was the best way to protect Alex, but why was she so quick to trust Ben, the man who abducted her daughter? Rousseau may be crazy, but she’s not stupid. Remember how paranoid she was when Sayid first encountered her? She had traps set up all around her camp and didn’t trust anyone. How did this gun-wielding survivor turn into a sitting duck three seasons later?

Taller Not-Ghost Malcolm

Malcolm David Kelly’s voice has changed, that much is clear. What remains a mystery is how we will see him re-appear on the show, though at this point I’m guessing it will have to only be in flash-forwards.

Wayne’s Take On Lost – Episode 6

Not too crazy about this podcast, only because it deals with stuff that has been extensively covered on other podcasts, blogs, etc. (regarding Meet Kevin Johnson.) Still, I really like the fact that it’s short and I’m sure that will be appealing to a lot of listeners. This is also the only episode of his show I’ve heard so far. Wayne seems to have a good perspective and set of opinions about the show and he is one of the few people who seem to be podcasting during this 5-week hiatus until the show resumes April 24th (10:00pm EST). Here’s Wayne’s take on Lost:

Mira Furlan Allowed Home

Apparently Mira Furlan, Danielle on Lost, lost her rights to live in her apartment there 16 years ago (sound familiar?). The city she lived in, Zagreb, is finally letting her move back in.

Actress Mira Furlan, a native of Zagreb who has after forging a great career in ex-Yugoslavia moved to the US and become a successful actress there has won a court battle with the city of Zagreb finally returning her home after 16 years.

Furlan has been awarded back her flat in Zagreb, which she had left at the beginning of the 1990’s, as he was hounded for culturally cooperating with Belgrade colleagues, something that brought about a smear campaign against her.

The city authorities’ representatives have said they were pleased with the outcome, as they were not the ones launching the court case against her, but those who had thrown her out of the flat she grew up in and lived in with her grandmother.

Mira Furlan left Zagreb at the height of the war in Croatia and found a new home in the United States where after struggling for a while she managed to get roles in acclaimed series like Babylon 5 and Lost. She has recently returned to Croatia with theatre roles played at the Ulysses Theatre owned by colleague and actor who had seen a similar destiny Rade Serbedzija.

Now I understand wanting to see family and all, but she better not be moving back any time soon! I still have hopes that she hasn’t totally bitten the dust after being shot in Meet Kevin Johnson.

Here what I learned from last night’s episode of Lost.

Keamy is indeed an asshole.

Just because there is a group of people on a boat trying to capture you doesn’t mean you can’t call them to say hi every now and then.

The Others embrace homosexuals because man-on-man love doesn’t usually lead to women getting pregnant.

Sayid is a tattletale.

Walt drives a lot a people to either die or go mad.

Killing people who get DUI’s doesn’t make you a bad person.

If you hear bullets flying around you don’t stand up.

With a hiatus now ahead of us I will have to work on a good list of predictions for the next episode.
